Do’s and Don’ts of being a TIM
  • Do offer your knowledge to everyone.
  • Do be aware of the skills of your staff by having them take the CUSD survey.
  • Do test the technology before a training.
  • Do check in with your trainees after a session.
  • Do keep communicating throughout the year with your staff.
  • Do have your trainees do the EdTechProfile at the conclusion of your training.
  • Do log your hours for training and support as you complete them.
  • Do focus your efforts on those who want it.
  • Do use other TIMs for support and ideas.
  • Don’t get stuck doing hardware support or operating system-type support.
  • Don’t offer one-on-one repeatedly to the same person…invite others…
  • Don’t get frustrated if interest is limited!
