Needs Assessment
Do you have a group email set up for your entire staff? Yes
Who are the staff members most likely to take advantage of your knowledge at your site? I believe that once needs have been established the majority of the staff will be willing to attend trainings in the areas they need support. Small group support for report cards and benchmarks and one on one support as requested.
When will you schedule and promote your first TIM workshops and support? After assessing what the staff needs are, trainings will occur as the need arises whereas there will be support provided one afternoon a week where I can be available to anyone with specific questions or concerns.
Site Ideas
How will you structure your program? (workshops? open labs? weekends? after school?) I will plan on having an hour one afternoon each Wednesday where I can do training labs or one on one support. In addition I'd like to coordinate with the GenYes program.
How can you best determine if your TIMs support is changing the knowledge, skills, and practice of teachers’ at the site?
The technology needs of the staff will increase in needing more advanced levels of training. I believe that direct communication and reevaluating school site needs will be an important part of this process.
(FYI: *The Ed Tech Profile survey www.edtechprofile.org must be completed by ALL teaches that you mentor.)
How will you best maintain communication with your principal and staff members regarding TIM activities? Email or notes/flyers in the staff room will be sure to reach everyone.
What site-based incentives can you and your principal offer teachers to encourage participation and completion of workshops? There are not any in place at this time.
Anticipated Challenges
What are some challenges you may face in implementing your TIM plan at your site? The staff is very busy and already involved in the Gen Yes program. With 21 hours not required, staff is not interested in spending more time in training.
Support for You
What human resources and technology resources does your site and district already have in place that can support your successful site-based TIM implementation? I have Cyndi Bailey, Marylin Rees and our 2 site techs.
